La artista Alejandra Tavolini explora los límites de lo habitual,

modificando objetos conocidos que reinstala en nuevos espacios.

Confecciona animales de peluche que luego sumerge en formol,

parodiando las millonarias instalaciones de Damien Hirst.

Así en forma directa, con humor e ironía, se apropia de la obra de uno

de los principales referentes del arte contemporáneo.

La novena versión de Feria Internacional de Arte de Bogotá,

se lleva a cabo en el recinto ferial de Corferias.

artBO, el evento de más trascendencia para las artes visuales en Colombia.

La Noche de los Museos abiertos comenzará el viernes a las 18. Entre otros, se sumarán a esta iniciativa los museos Angel Gallardo, Estévez, del Diario La Capital, Castagnino, de la Memoria, macro, Marc y el CEC. Aunque con cupos limitados habrá transporte gratuito para recorrerlos. Los pases se pueden retirar hasta el jueves próximo, de 10 a 19, en el CEC (Paseo de las Artes y el río Paraná).

La Asociación Amigos del Centro Cultural Recoleta promueve una subasta de obras de arte contemporáneo

a beneficio de la institución, con el objetivo de recaudar fondos que contribuyan al desarrollo de este importante

espacio cultural de la ciudad.

El jueves 20 de septiembre a las 19 horas quedará inaugurada en Sala C

exposición de las obras que integrarán el remate, que se rematarán

el jueves 27 de septiembre a las 19hs en la misma sala.

Alejandra Tavolini  es una de las artistas participantes.

El miércoles 5 de septiembre, las obras del Premio Fundación Andreani 11-12 desembarcan en el Centro Cultural Recoleta,

último destino de la itinerancia. Como parte del cierre, se presenta la publicación que resume la experiencia en los diferentes

destinos con textos de los artistas e imágenes de las obras seleccionadas.

Fundación Andreani inaugura la Tercera Edición de su Premio a las Artes Visuales.

En esta oportunidad se presentan 1014 obras y se seleccionan 43 que visitarán cuatro ciudades

argentinas en una itinerancia nacional.

El viernes 1 de junio visitan el Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Salta. La muestra cuenta con

la curadoría de Ernesto Ballesteros.

Los artistas Dana Wyse, Botner & Pedro, Alejandra Tavolini, Guga Ferraz, Miltos Manetas, Jaime Ávila y Soler se reunen para presentar la exposición colectiva 'Live Now Die Later' (Vive ahora, muere después), en Soler StudioHub.

Allí presentan obras que dan cuenta de las formas en que cada uno experimenta y concibe la vida y la muerte. Para ello, combinan la instalación, el video, la fotografía y la pintura, entre otros formatos, con el fin de llegar a piezas impactantes que evocan el terrorismo, la monotonía, el consumismo y la fragilidad de la vida.

Muestra itinerante organizada por la Fundación YPF, el Centro Cultural Recoleta y su Asociación Amigos en la que participan artistas de la provincia de Santa Fe y que es parte del programa Argentina Pinta Bien, diseñado en el año 2003 por estas instituciones con el objetivo de difundir la obra de artistas contemporáneos de las distintas provincias argentinas.

Curadoras: Forencia Battiti, Cecilia Fiel y Adriana Lauría.

La exposición es producto de las Residencias artísticas y curatoriales coordinadas por el Museo MACRO Castagnino de Rosario, Argentina, y el Instituto de las Artes (IDARTE) de Bogotá, Colombia.

En el marco de la 7° Semana del Arte en Rosario el CEC desarrolla el miércoles 19 de Octubre en Darkhaus (Corrientes 267) La Fugaz.

La Fugaz es una feria relámpago de arte que se propone como una experiencia vertiginosa y efectiva, con múltiples actividades que se centran en la adquisición e intercambio de producciones artísticas. La feria busca favorecer el tránsito de público a consumidor y, de este modo, fomentar la generación de un mercado de arte local.

"Since the origin of man, nature has been the main source of beauty, a suitable place for inspiration. In this exhibition, the intention is to recover the bond between nature and man, a relationship that seem to have been lost but rather it has been adopting different forms. (...) It is our intention that De regreso al paraíso will turn into a journey, a trip along some thoughts and feelings that remind us that we are part of something mysterious and infinite."

Collective exhibition that gathers works from the cultural heritage of Museo Castagnino+Macro following a curatorial script by BA Fernando Farina as part of the celebration of the Bicentenary of Argentina

Annual experience that combines exhibition and auction and whose first aim is to provide a vertiginous and effective experience after which everybody can acquire a work of art. Another objective is to provide a meeting-point for citizens, artists, curators, collectors, critics and owners of art galleries. La Fugaz 3 took place as part of the 5^th Rosario Art Week 5SAR/09 at CEC (Center of Contemporary Expressions)

Collective exhibition with Martín Reyna, Alejandra Tavolini, María Boneo, Lucía Spotorno, Margarita Wilson-Rae, Luján Castellani and Fabiana Imola, organizad by Galería del Infinito. The exhibition is a meeting point of a group of paintings, objects, installations, photographies and collages that establish among them provisional and not conventional links.

As part of the Buenos Aires Annual Art Gallery Fair (ArteBA ’09) Tavolini presented, in Del Infinito Art Gallery stand, the installation “Golden Calf” while she went all over the exhibition handing out among those present at the event Holy cards with the image of the Golden Calf in order to “attract good fortune”.

The 2009 edition of the Bahia Blanca National Biennial Exhibition coincided with the 181° anniversary of the city. A jury whose members were Carlos Herrera, Cecilia Rabossi and Esteban Alvarez selected 46 works out of the 600 that were applied. The installation “Two Piggies” was one of the works selected.

Del Infinito Gallery gathers the works of five young artists whose works show a marked growth and maturity. Besides, they share a great commitment with their production.

Annual Prize to the Visual Arts given by Fundación Federico Jorge Klemm. Besides contributing to the diffusion of the work of art, this contest incorporates the works to the Foundation collection.

It was created in 2005 with the aim of increasing the Museum Dr. Urbano Poggi’s artistic heritage and of encouraging the pictorial production at a national scale. The 2008 edition of the Biennal was supported by Secretaría de Cultura de la Presidencia de la Nación, la Secretaría de Cultura de la Provincia de Santa Fe, de la Asociación Amigos del Museo y el Fondo Nacional de las Artes. In this contest, Tavolini got the First Prize.

"Los pintores amigos” gathered the works of a group of artists from Rosario around an Augusto Schiavoni painting. The idea for exhibition came from the director of the MDLC, Fernando Farina. It was jointly curated by Farina and Roberto Echen (Macro)

"Pares Discontinuos" is a curatorial proposal exclusively for the web whose aim is to link visual artists who despite having different contexts of production they have works with a common spirit.

The Premio Argentino de Artes Visuales seeks to encourage the creativity and to favour the dissemination of works of artists coming from the different regions of Argentina. In the 2006 edition, Tavolini got the Regional Prize, Región Centro.

Contest organized by Bodegas Chandon since 2000. The 2006 edition took place in Museo de Arte Contemporáneo in Salta.

Series of visual dialogues among regions. It was based on an idea by Andrés Duprat. The crossing between Rosario and Mar del Plata was curated by Daniel Besoytaorube and Mauro Machado. The exhibition was presented in Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires and Rosario.

During ArteBA'06 Coca Cola Light selected artists from the different stands within Barrio Joven (fourteen in all) to participate in a contest where the general public could choose three winners. The organizing committee was composed by Diana Aisenberg, Graciela Harper and Luisa Pedrouzo

Periférica is a fair and an international meeting point for art spaces, publishing houses, independent record labels and different artist communities which belong to the alternative circuit. It gathers together different spaces from Argentina and from other Latin American countries in order to share their experiences and to debate the new roles that artists are assuming nowadays. 2005 was its first edition.

Tavolini and Ricci integrated their habitual production into a jointly project: to build some kind of home for a cuddly toy community. They started from the notion of module, a common element in the work of both artists. The result was a recreational and critical approximation to the principles of rationalist architecture.

During  the Art Week the artistic production is presented – apart from the habitual places – in bars, shopping centres, and in the streets with the aim of turning the city into an open space for the joy of its citizens. This annual event is organized jointly by Rosario Town Hall and Museo Castagnino+Macro. Tavolini did an intervention in the shop window of a clothes store

Contest sponsored by Bodegas Chandon with the aim of offering a sample of the national contemporary production. The 2004 edition was curated by BA Fernando Farina and it took place in the Emilio Caraffa Museum in Córdoba. Tavolini received a Special Mention from the Jury for her work Abrazos.

Annual contest organized by Fundación La Capital, the oldest newspaper in Rosario. Traditionally, this event is carried out together with Museo Municipal de Bellas Artes "Juan B. Castagnino". Tavolini participated with her work Camisa de Fuerza.

Solidary exhibition organizad by AAVRA, Asociación de Artistas Visuales de la República Argentina. 500 plastic artists intervened little hospital beds done on a scale which were auctioned with the aim of raising funds for the Hospital Paroissiende La Matanza, Buenos Aires.

La vidriera  is an event annually organizad by CORDIC, Consejo de Recuperación del Incapacitado Cardíaco, with the aim of raising funds. Since its first edition in 1990, La vidriera de Cordic has worked as a shop window for the last tendencies in decoration, the new technology and art.

Tavolini exhibits a series of quilts made of a patchwork of scenes taken from friends and family‘s photos. The artist believe that with the quilts we establish a similar relationship to the one we establish with our families: an inevitable and constant fluctuation between the protection one is seeking and the breathlessness that is repulsive.

In the faces of the portrayed kids is possible to imagine the future existence of a world full of timetables, rites, obligations and pain.
